I have the honour to refer to my telogram
No. 1510 of 20th November, 1946, reporting the death

of Mr. W. R. Chester-Woods, Acting Assistant Superintendent
of Police in Hong Kong and to forward a medical report on
his death and a copy of his Death Certificate.

The widow is at present in Hong Kong and the estate will be settled locally. In order that the widow's pension may be computed and that payments due from this Government to the estate may be determined, I shali be grateful for a reply by telegraph as to whether the recommen- dation for the late Mr. Cheater-Woods' promotion to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police contained in my confi- dential despatch of 16th October, 1946, has received your approval.
